The purpose of this internship is to prepare college students for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You will be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge!

We develop printer firmware for all variances of printer products like desktop, tabletops, and mobile computers. This group analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products (printers) and systems. Performs system integration of software and hardware testing before releasing firmware for production.

Responsibilities:

Code and Test on a variety of firmware assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project
Upgrade existing firmware; Enhance and improve existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
Support process recommendations to enhance performance and improve productivity (via Metrics).
Helps in documentation of our requirements and peer reviews.
Shadow senior engineers to learn more about Zebra printer products.
Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills
Increase technology knowledge and skills
Develop team-based work proficiencies
Develop interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow up activities

THIS IS A HYBRID INTERNSHIP LOCATED IN LINCONSHIRE, IL. THE EXPECTATION IS AT LEAST 3 DAYS OF IN-OFFICE ATTENDANCE.

Qualifications:

Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Must have an anticipated graduation date between May 2025-May 2026
Experience / Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++
Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

Flexibility/Agility- as this group is fast paced and flexibility to work on different assignments will be needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences
Ability to collaborate with diverse teams
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Salary: USD 28.50 - USD 31.00 Hourly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.

Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
